Original Classification Acapulcoite-Lodranite
Macroscopic Description - Kathleen McBride
The exterior has some rusty brown patches of fusion crust. The interior has a crystalline, granular texture with yellow and green to olive green grains interspersed within a mass of root beer colored matrix.
Thin Section (,4) Description - Cari Corrigan, Tim McCoy and Linda Welzenbach
The section consists of an equigranular aggregate of olivine, pyroxene, plagioclase, and metal with minor sulfide and chromite, with an average grain size of 0.5 mm. Plagioclase occurs interstitially to mafic silicates. Olivine (Fa12) and pyroxene (Fs12) are homogeneous. The meteorite is a transitional member of the acapulcoite-lodranite clan, similar to EET 84302 and GRA 95209.
