Sample Summary - QUE94201

The extremely small size of Queen Alexandra Range 94201 prevents MWG from allocating it freely following the initial distribution of about one third of the sample in 1995. QUE94201 is a tiny (12 g) moderately coarse-grained basalt consisting of subequal amounts of pyroxene and plagioclase glass . This coarse grain size makes heterogeneity a problem for the small samples and thin sections that were allocated for study. It has abundant impact melt glass and the highest percentage of phosphate of any martian meteorite.
