Some black patches of fusion crust are on the exterior surface. The rest of the exterior is dark gray to black with fractures, pits and evaporites. There is one large hollow pit on one surface and some mm sized inclusions are visible. The interior is a dark gray to black matrix with some oxidation and tiny specks of lighter/weathered colors. |
The section consists of a few small chondrules (up to 0.5 mm), mineral grains and CAIs set in a black matrix; rare metal and sulfide grains are present. Olivine compositions are Fa0-33 with a peak at Fa0-2. Orthopyroxene is Fs9. Aqueous alteration of the matrix is substantial, but the chondrules are only modestly altered. The meteorite is a CM2 chondrite. |
