Macroscopic Description - Kathleen McBride
The exterior is covered by rough black fusion crust over 100% of the surface. The interior is a dark charcoal gray that is soft. Millimeter sized gray inclusions are visible.
Thin Section Description (,3) - Tim McCoy
The section consists of large (up to 2 mm), well-defined chondrules in a matrix of finer-grained silicates, sulfides and very abundant magnetite. The meteorite is little weathered, but extensively shock blackened. Silicates are homogeneous. Olivine is Fa24 and orthopyroxene is Fs23. The meteorite appears to be a CK4 chondrite, although the silicates are poorer in FeO than typical for CK4 chondrites (Fa29-33). |
