90% of this ordinary chondrite’s exterior has brown/black fusion crust with oxidation haloes. The interior is a gray matrix with high metal content and numerous gray and white chondrules. |
The section exhibits numerous large, well-defined chondrules (up to 3 mm) in a black matrix of fine-grained silicates, metal and troilite. Strong shock effects are present. The meteorite is moderately weathered. Silicates are unequilibrated; olivines range from Fa8-25, with most grains Fa20-22, and pyroxenes from Fs4-19. The meteorite is an L3 chondrite (estimated subtype 3.8). |
