80% of the exterior is covered with dull black fusion crust. The interior is a fine-grained tan matrix with some light blue evaporate material on one surface. | |
Thin Section Description (,2) - Cari Corrigan, Linda Welzenbach | |
This section shows well-defined chondrules (up to 1.5 mm across) and silicate grains in a slightly weathered matrix. Iron-nickel metal and sulfides are present but somewhat oxidized. Microprobe analyses show olivine compositions of Fa24-47. Pyroxene is present in minor amounts as diopside (Fs9Wo47). The meteorite is an R3 chondrite. |
