Macroscopic Description - Cecilia Satterwhite
40% of the exterior has black fractured fusion crust. Areas without fusion crust are dark gray to black with abundant inclusions/chondrules. The fine grained black matrix is filled with tiny inclusions/chondrules lighter than the matrix. Minor oxidation is visible throughout.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Cari Corrigan, Tim McCoy
The section consists of a few small chondrules (up to 1 mm), mineral grains and CAIs set in a black matrix; rare sulfide grains are present. Olivine compositions are Fa0-44. Aqueous alteration of the matrix is substantial, but the chondrules are only moderately altered. The meteorite is a CM2 chondrite. |
