Macroscopic Description - Kathleen McBride
The fusion crust is rusty black with cracks. The interior has a rusty granular texture with a high metal content and crumbles easily.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Tim McCoy
The section exhibits a granoblastic texture with abundant triple junctions and grain sizes of 100-300 microns. Olivine, pyroxene and plagioclase are uniformly distributed, but metal and sulfide exhibit a very heterogeneous distribution on a mm-scale. Olivine is Fa8, pyroxene is Fs10Wo2 and plagioclase is An13Or5. The meteorite is an acapulcoite. |
