Macroscopic Description - Kathleen McBride
30% black thin fusion crust is on the exterior. The interior is rusty brown with metal and light colored inclusions/chondrules.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Tim McCoy, Cari Corrigan, Linda Welzenbach
This small section exhibits large chondrules (up to 3 mm) and a few CAIs in a dark matrix. Olivines range from Fa1-4 and pyroxene is Fs1, although few grains were measured. The meteorite is a CV3 chondrite.
Reclassification Notes (AMN 46,1)
Reclassification and pairing based on Raman spectroscopy (petrologic type 3.6), and on Ni content of metal and sulfide and magnetic susceptibility (Oxidized B). Details are reported in Righter et al. (2022); doi: 10.1111/maps.13932. |
