Macroscopic Description - Cecilia Satterwhite
60% fractured, black fusion crust with some exposed gray to black matrix visible in areas without fusion crust. The interior is a gray matrix with some light and dark small inclusions visible.
Thin Section Description -
The sections consist of large (up to 1.5 mm), well-defined chondrules in a matrix of finer-grained silicates, sulfides, and abundant magnetite grains. The meteorites are minimally weathered, but extensively shock blackened. Silicates are homogeneous. Olivine is Fa30-31 and pyroxene is Fs11-25Wo1-39. The meteorites are CK5 chondrites and are likely paired. |
