Macroscopic Description - Kathleen McBride
The fusion crust on the exteriors of these meteorites is brown/black with polygonal fractures. The interiors are gray to black matrix, fine grained with some evaporites. Inclusions/chondrules are light colored.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Tim McCoy, Cari Corrigan, Linda Welzenbach
The sections consist of large (up to 2 mm) chondrules in a matrix of finer-grained silicates, sulfides and magnetite. The meteorites are extensively shock blackened. Silicates are homogeneous. Olivine is Fa29-31 and orthopyroxene is Fs25-26 across the pairing group. The meteorites are CK5 chondrites |
