Macroscopic Description - Kathleen McBride
Dull, black fusion crust covers most if not all of the exteriors of these two meteorites. The interiors show small chondrules of various light-colored shades. They are hard, with a high metal content and are fine-grained.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Tim McCoy
A single description suffices for these paired meteorites that were found within 1.5 km of each other. The sections consist of abundant small (up to 1 mm) chondrules, chondrule fragments and mineral grains in a dark matrix. Metal and sulfide occur within and rimming the chondrules. Olivine ranges in composition from Fa0-33, with a clustering of compositions around Fa30. Orthopyroxene is Fs1-8. The meteorites are CO3 chondrite of moderately high subtype (estimated 3.6).
